Implementation of the International Approach in the Development of Pedagogical Personnel: Analysis of Estonian and Finnish Experiences
From May 4-10, 2024, a group of 12 Azerbaijani educators participated in a educational project titled "Implementation of the International Approach in the Development of Pedagogical Personnel: Analysis of Estonian and Finnish Experiences." This project, supported by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Science and Education through its VIII Grant Competition for Educational Development and Innovations, was implemented in partnership with MTÜ Haridus Akadeemia Karjäär and T-Network.
During the program, participants had the opportunity to visit several leading educational institutions in Estonia and Finland. These included the Tallinn Education Department (Tallinna Haridusamet), Tallinna Linnamäe Vene Lütseum, Luumäki Municipality and Taavetin Koulu in Finland, Tallinna 21. Kool, Tallinn Teachers' House (Tallinna Õpetajate Maja), and Tallinna Tõnismäe Reaalkool. At each location, the delegation carefully examined school facilities and infrastructure to understand how physical learning environments contribute to educational quality.
The program featured a series of seminars focusing on key aspects of the Estonian and Finnish education systems. Participants engaged with experts on topics including curriculum development, student-centered learning approaches, digital education strategies, and teacher professional development. A particularly valuable component of the visit involved direct classroom observations, where Azerbaijani educators could witness teaching methodologies, student-teacher interactions, and assessment techniques in action.
